My mom & dad’s high school shared this post yesterday. It was nicely written and had some photos I’ve never seen before. I wanted to share.

Phil Avalos, Anaheim High School Class of 1972, passed away yesterday at the age of 69 following a long period of declining health. At AHS, he played football for Coach Clare Van Hoorebeke and was a member of the Colonist Club. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy before returning to AHS as a teacher and coach. He spent many years coaching football in Southern California and with football clubs around the world. Phil had a lifelong love for Anaheim High School and appreciated the great memories he shared there with friends, teammates, coaches, and players. He is survived by his daughter Elaina and was preceded in death by his son Matt. Funeral/memorial plans have yet to be announced.
